I recently got to know Angela who’s Hugo’s sister in law and told me about the hard times the family has gone through in recent years. The family has kept the business afloat through the pandemic through hard work and patience. The ceviche competition in Guatemala is legit and Hugo’s does a great job! My father in law loves this place. Specifically the Ceviche de Concha. I like the Ceviche de Camarón myself. Aside from that, this restaurant was one of the originals to bring Picosas to Guatemala and I love their original recipe with a cold Gallo. Their menu is vast. From ceviche to sea food soups, to fried fish and a children’s menu. Lots of drinks to choose from as well! Their staff has also been around for years which always gives me a sense of family when I go. Ask for Angela when you go. She will treat you like family too. Look out for them at their new location as they have moved as well. ”
